Antique Edwardian 1900-1915 Large Solid Platinum and Over 2.48ctw Diamonds Geometric Dinner Ring
This one of a kind antique Edwardian platinum and diamond dinner ring is a beautiful example of the fashion of the era. Prior to the art deco era of the 1920s and after the reign of Queen Victoria and the art nouveau movement, fashion and jewelry started focusing on a lavish yet sophisticated modernization. Diamonds were the primary focus, cut into the Old European style featured on this ring, and white metal was most often used as to not distract from their whiteness. Dinner rings, also called cocktail rings at the time, were longer and wider pieces worn for parties and nightly gatherings instead of daily wear. These rings were meant to highlight the taste and wealth of the elite as they celebrated the new century.
