These ideals were first fostered by our Founder, Martin Kaminsky who sharpened his skills for watchmaking, watch repair and time synchronization during his WWII tour. He established his Brooklyn-based brand to extend those services to the community, later including items for buying and selling. The GEM expansion took off when his son Mitchell joined the business after graduating with his MBA. Following Mitchell’s passing in 2017, the Kaminsky family continues to lead GEM as a true standard of this industry.
